Open-Source Intelligence, or OSINT, is the practice of collecting and analyzing information that is freely and publicly available.
Think of it this way: In the past, a detective might go to a library to look through old newspaper archives or visit a courthouse to review public records. OSINT is the modern, digital version of that process.
Instead of physical archives, investigators use sources that are open to everyone on the internet. This includes things like news articles, social media posts, public documents, and information from company websites. The "open-source" part is key—it means they are not hacking or accessing private information. They are simply using the vast amount of data that is already out there to gather clues and build a case.
*Case Bunker was developed with help from AI models like Claude Sonet, GPT, and Gemini. These models provided insight into the latest best practices, often eclipsing what we could do alone. With their help we were able to create apps that are feature packed, yet easy to use. We think you will find AI, while a chunk to learn to use, is a game changing tool for the better.
